If you have a dark colored room, look for some lighter accents. If you have a blank wall that is driving you crazy, go ahead and look for some wall art, but dont get a ceramic set of clowns to go with it. Be sure to stick with colors that match. Only use a couple different colors in a room. Too many colors will make a room look messy and chaotic. If you have a large Victorian house you may not want modern furniture in it. If you have a studio in downtown New York City, dont include an old player piano in it. Finally, above all else, make sure that you have room for any items that you want to incorporate into your house. No matter how great some home accessories may be, if they wont fit, dont cram them in!
