The first thing that you need to know is what version do you want to buy. Remember that some Bible versions are actually not authentic as well. Some of the most popular has to be the King James version, New International version and the New King James version. There is also one called the New American Standard version as well.
The King James version is probably harder to read and understand but it would also be more authentic as the New International version. The New International version is the easiest to understand and if you can, it might be beneficial to by both versions to get the best of both.
The next thing that you should think about is the size. Remember that you will be travelling with this to church and various church functions. Not only the size of the Bible itself but also the size of the text inside. If it is too small to read it will be practically useless for you to use on a daily basis.
Check the quality of the binding and pages as well. If you are going to be using it a lot, it is important to make sure it is built sturday enough to handle a lot of use. This is the time to really look at how much you are spending and if you can afford it, do not cheap out. If you end up getting a cheap one now, you will probably end up spending more in the long run because you will have to buy more. Buying a good one right from the beginning should last you years.
If you do not have a good Christian book store in your area, checking online should be a good way to find exactly what you need. There are many different sites online that specialize on selling all different types of Bibles.
