While some people struggle to loose weight for health reasons, others are trying to gain weight for the exact same reason. It has always been and will always be an argument as to which is easier and can be done faster. One truth that remains is that indeed there are many people in the society who are struggling with their weight, for health reasons as well as others.

Sad to say, there are many companies that are exploiting this vulnerable part of society who are willing to do almost anything to get into shape. The market is full of pills, gels, creams, drinks you name it which promise instant and miraculous results. There is a policy I have that has this far never disappointed me.

Expect a miracle from man only if you can work one. The only miracle they do is make the cash in your wallets mysteriously disappear. One thing I'm sure about most of them are the drastic side effects. You cannot, I repeat cannot healthily gain 10 pounds or loose the same in a matter of days! I lost 13 kilograms in 2 months, shortly after I was admitted to a hospital bed for a whole month.

Believe you me; I will not list down what products to use, or diets that yield instant results. I believe in getting healthy the natural way. Work hard for what you want to achieve, believe me the gain surpasses the pain my millions of miles.

If you want to loose weight, the first thing you have to do is eat right and in adequate amounts. By drastically reducing your food intake, a common mistake made by many, your body goes into starvation mode and instead of loosing fat, more is stored and your muscles instead are burned down. If you didn't know that muscles are essential for burning fat, then now you do. Lower your calorie intake but do this gradually.

You need to build to build muscle and this is done through working out. Hit the gym. Working out increases your body's metabolism and hence more food is burned and less is stored.

Gaining weight can also be done in a healthy way. As in gaining weight, you have to change your diet if you want to gain pounds. Increase your calorie intake gradually. I didn't say overeat, this is a common misconception among people trying to gain weight. You need to stack up the right kind of calories, unless of cause you want to get a cardiovascular disease, or even worse, heart attack.

You are required to work out as well. Am guessing many of you thought it's all about eating and lying around as the weight mysteriously increases. Well news flash, you have to sign up for a gym. This ensures that you're not just packing fat in your body, but your also stacking up muscles and keeping fit generally.

For both processes; weight loss and gain, one needs to have patience. As long as you keep at it, you will eventually start seeing visible changes and you'll feel great inside as you become more and more healthy.
