Natural disasters of all kinds can cause various and tremendous destruction to homes and the people who live there. It depends on the disaster and how bad is to determine what those damages might be. Natural disasters can cause terror that can be unthinkable. You may not even grasp what just happened and your head could be spinning from the devastation that is surrounding you. People who have not lived through a terrible natural disaster could probably not comprehend the horror that is experienced when you watch your home be destroyed and especially is you are in the home at the time.

All those people know is what they have seen on television. Disasters like tornadoes, floods, hurricanes, severe thunder and lightening storms, snow and ice blizzards, hail storms, and earthquakes can all be deadly. All of these can do different or some of the same things. Sometimes more then one of these can come with another, More than one thing at a time is even worse then having just one and the devastation can be multiplied.

For example: a hurricane can cause heavy rain fall, tornadoes, floods, lightning, and hail. Severe thunderstorms can also bring tornadoes, heavy rain coming from every direction, hail, very strong winds, and flooding. Your home can be damaged or destroyed by high winds within an hour or two and if a tornado comes through where you live, it can be almost instantaneous. Lives can be taken, suffering can be caused, and injures can be serious.

Watch the weather for any warnings or watches for these things and if there is one issued, get ready. If it is a tornado warning and you do not have time to evacuate, get to the safest area in the home. That can be closets or bathrooms, sometimes basements. If it is a hurricane or severe storm coming and you have plenty of time, evacuating might be the best course of action. It does not matter really where your home is located, these kinds of disasters have a way of affecting people everywhere. Having home insurance and additional flood insurance is the best way to ensure you can repair your home if tragedy strikes suddenly.

Clean up after your home has been damaged by severe weather, flooding, or even an earthquake and can take some time to put everything right if it is even possible. The lucky ones will have a home left to repair and the not so lucky ones will have to completely rebuild or move somewhere else.
