First you need to pick out enough pictures to fill up a box about half way. Organize the photos to tell a story and lay them in the box. This allows you to pull out each photo as you are ready. You need to choose an album you want to use to make your scrapbook; your memories should be created in an acid free album - preserved for a lifetime. If you don't want to hassle with choosing papers and creating all your memories in an album you designed, you can purchase one already created online from Creative Memories.

Before you begin your pages some common items you will need are: album, scissors, photos, acid free adhesive or double sided tape, acid free stickers, acid free paper, acid free scrapbook pages, scrapbooking markers and page protectors.

When you are ready to choose your supplies, think about your wedding day. Was it a formal wedding or a casual yet friendly day? Include your relationship in the choices you make for the album. Your wedding album is a small reflection of who you are and you want the album to show this side of you too!

As you prepare to make your first page, consider cropping your images. As you place them on a page you will be able to fit more images, one liners and journaling into each page. This can help make your story - your love story glow in years to come. Create atmosphere around the people in your pictures, unless the background is important.

Secure your images, paper, and accents as you lay them out - this will make the pages complete. As you prepare to write the journal entries, think of what was important in these pictures and is it information you will want to share with your grandchildren down the road.

Some questions to ask yourself would be "What was the first thing you noticed about each other?" "Did your families like each other?" "What time of the year did you get married?" "Where did you go on your honeymoon?" "Who were your bridesmaids?" "How many bridesmaids did you have?" "What were the colors at your wedding?" "What was he like the first time you met?" "How did you meet?" "How long did you date?" "Where did you get married?" - of course these questions seem redundant now, but in the future when you are celebrating fifty years of marriage you might need a little helping hand, to help you remember exactly what you said!

Page protectors are a big item here, after you have dressed your pages, you want to be able to protect each one. Some albums come with page protectors and some don't. If you have to buy them separately consider purchasing heavy weighted ones. These will come in handy when your children and grandchildren start looking through your album. Memories are a wonderful gift to give your children and their children!
