Prince Keleseth's abilities:
Shadow Bolt: this spell has a 40 yard range and 3 second cast time. It will deal 6,000 to 8,000 shadow damage on Heroic! On normal mode, the damage is approximately 3,500 hit points.
Frost Tomb: this spell will encase a player inside a block of ice and immobilize him or her.
Frost Tomb lasts for 20 seconds or until destroyed by other party members. Each tomb has approximately 2,500 hit points. In addition to immobilizing the target player, the tomb will inflict about 400 damage per second while the player is encased in ice. On normal mode, that adds up to 8,000 points of damage! It's important to note that the Tomb is immune to frost damage.
Prince Keleseth will raise undead skeletons throughout the fight. Each skeleton has 7,000 hit points. They can be crowd controlled by all means of undead CC. They will respawn once killed.
The skeletons will cast Decrepify on target players (reduces strength by 100 and movement speed by 30%). It's best if you can keep your party grouped together for this fight, as the skeletons will remain in one central location (making aggro and DPS much easier for the party).
Before beginning your fight with Keleseth, it is advisable that you kill the four elite mobs that are nearby.
Suggested Strategy:
When your tank engages Keleseth, it is best if your party gathers together and stands directly behind (or in front of) the tank. This will keep the skeletons in one central location and make it easier to eliminate them as they respawn throughout the encounter.
This setup also allows for your party (including the tank) to easily target any ice block that gets cast. Your tank will also be able to keep aggro on the undead skeletons and keep them under control. By keeping the party in a tight group, it makes this boss encounter extremely easy.
Your party needs to pay attention when Keleseth casts Frost Tomb! It can easily kill a player with its damage over time. Everyone needs to focus their DPS on the Frost Tomb when it is cast.
Paladins are arguably the best tank for defeating Prince Keleseth. Their bubble and undead killing abilities will keep everything under wraps quite easily for the duration of the fight.
Prince Keleseth is associated with the Achievement titled On The Rocks.
He can drop three different items on normal mode: Keleseth's Blade of Evocation, Reinforced Velvet Helm (cloth), and Dragon Stabler's Gauntlets (mail).
If you can defeat him while on Heroic mode, he can drop: Infantry Assault Blade, Wand of the San'layn, Strategist's Belt (plate), and Battlemap Hide Helm (leather). And, of course, he will also drop an Emblem of Heroism on Heroic mode.
