Lampanelli received national attention in 2005 for back-to-back appearances on "Premium Blend" and the highly rated "Roast of Jeff Foxworthy" (she was also the only female comedian invited to roast the man of honor). Lampanelli is a regular on the "Tonight Show" as well as Howard Stern's Sirius satellite radio shows. The "shock jock" called her a brilliant comedian who will steal the show each time. Stern isn't the only one praising the comedian. The comedy legend, Jim Carrey, has applauded Lisa and said she is not a standup, but a standout when she is up on stage. When Lampanelli isn't performing live, she is focusing on her DVD specials. In 2005, the comedian completed the one our-special, "Take it Like a Man," which landed number 6 on the comedy charts.
She followed up on that successful DVD with her 2007 one-hour special, "Dirty Girl," which debuted on Comedy Central and Warner Bros Records, and climbed up to number 4 on the charts. Not too long after, "Dirty Girl" was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Comedy of the year. The comedian's other credits include numerous of specials for MTV, VH1, CMT, and was featured on the "Best of" episode of Comedy Central's "Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn." The "Lovable Queen of Mean" is currently working on her first ever one-hour HBO comedy special called "Long Live the Queen." The CD and DVD of the special will follow. The stand-up comedian Just finished writing her first book, "Chocolate, Please: My Adventures in Food, Fat and Freaks," which arrives in bookstores on September 15, 2009.
Lisa has been in numerous of movies. She appeared in "Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector" and worked with Bill Engvall, Larry the Cable Guy, and D.J Quall in "Delta Farce." Many will remember her from "The Aristocrats." Recently, the comedian has played a more maternal version of herself in the Owen Wilson vehicle, "Drillbit Taylor." Lampanelli is currently working on a pilot for a weekly show on HBO with executive producers Jim Carrey and Kario Salem. It seems like Lisa has been working on a different project since 2002, but has not abandoned her stand-up acts, which can be seen throughout the country.
