In every situation find out what the person you are communicating with wants, and show them how to get it.
The quicker you realise that people are essentially all the same, the easier it will be to deal with them. Many people spend there entire lives wanting something and never taking the action to achieve it. When you truely understand this you have the key to motivating people.
Principle No one.
Two key steps here.
1) Unless you ask someone what it is they want, it is unlikely you will ever know. If you ask and find out then show them how to get it, they will be motivated.
2) A true Leader is a person who motivates people to take action The person taking action is doing it because of some direct benefit to themselves. They have self motivation. An unstoppable power.
This may seem too simple but it is absolutly true. In not asking the question you will miss a golden opportunity to become a great manager, salesperson, business owner.
Think about that for a minute. We are all constantly thinking about what we want. It rules our life and totally dominates us. So, if we are all doing it, accept it as a reality. Do not try and change it, you cannot. You can force, manipulate and bully people into doing what you want, but the reality in the short medium and long term it will not work.
In a work or social space people will go along only because they are getting what they want. If it is only the salary then things are off the rails and the organisation will operate at a very low efficiency level (read profit).
Principle No. two
The greater the amount of time you spend showing people how to get what they want, the quicker you will achieve your goals.
Think about it. You can make people happy but you will be dissatisfied. This leads to disillusionment because you are not achieving your own goals. Maintain a single focus. By helping these people achieve what they want, am I reaching my desired goals? If the answer is no, examine the relationship.
You may need to make some changes and eliminate any abusive element in the relationship.
Principle No. three
It is easier to find out what a person wants by using friendly and gentle questions than by telling them what you want to do and asking them is it ok to go along. They will possibly say yes with resentment.
Master the art of asking question.
Find out what they want.
Outline a course of action or a series of tasks that will give them what they want.
In the process of getting what they want.
You achieve your goals which is what you wanted all along.
Principle No. four
By applying these principles you will earn more money. If you dedicate yourself to them you will make a lot more money. What to do with it.
If you do not have a mortgage, save the money to buy an investment property first by obtaining a mortgage. Contact a mortgage broker for all the information you need. If you have a property, follow these simple steps:
Calculate the amount of money you need to live on in a month and then put the rest of the money into the mortgage as an extra payment every month. The safest way of doing this is to set a fixed sum. $500, $1000, $1500 a month as AN EXTRA PAYMENT. Do not fall into the trap of deciding at the end of each month how much is left over for this extra payment because there will not be any.
When you pay your mortgage and it will be very quickly, redraw the mortgage and buy another property or consider other wealth creating investment. You will need a financial planner.
Principle No. five
Contact a mortgage broker and find out what the effect of the extra payment is on your mortgage and the time frames to be able to redraw it. They have mortgage calculator and software that will allow you to build an investment plan for yourself.
