We are all a lot like pack-rats when it comes to buying of new things. We will try to hang on to the oldest awful looking appliance saying as long as it still works we do not need to go spend money on a new one. Some of these might not even work right. Most of us just do not want to spend that extra money to buy a new one even though the item as seen its better days. Water using appliances like hot water heaters, dishwashers, washing machines, and even refrigerators can be damaged by the water they use. It might not be a lot, but it will only take a little for the damage to start.
Sometimes water damage can come as steam like from the pans on the stove you use to cook with. Then you will have the moisture from the shower in the room down the hall. Even the difference in the daily temperatures outside and inside the home can cause your appliances to rust. The three biggest appliances in your home can receive this damage faster than all of those smaller ones as they have water in them at all times.
When you see the damage on these appliances it would be a good time to start to look for new ones. You might want to price them before you buy. Check around to see if you can find one in your price range. If you can not afford new right now you might want to check into maybe the renting of one or going to a good used store to look and see what they might have. It is always best to try to stay in your price range and never let that salesperson talk you into something that you might not like or really want.
