I had a friend recently who purchased a gown from a bridal store that unfortunately went out of business. The dress was brand-new and never being used but had been tried on in the store a few times. It was a very formal dress with a button feature on the front that kind of reminded us of something from the 1940s it was very tailored and came with padded shoulders. This suited for perfect and the length of the dress from the shoulder to the hemline was about 57 inches, which was just perfect.
It was as if her it had been made to measure if it was just unbelievable. It was a very simple rounded and came with a wide shoulder strap. Because she is a very small person the waistline has to be adjusted slightly, and we have to make a slight adjustment to the sleeves but that was all we need to do, and we have a very happy bride.
We were again able to source some Victorian jewelry, it wasnt a real stuff of course but was really perfect for the style of dress that she had purchased. Accessories can be key sometimes depending on what type of wedding gown you are going to choose, and its always advisable to get a bit of advice when purchasing this. Because my friend is a very small petite size, we did not want any type of jewelry that will take away from the dress.
My friend was lucky to get a good price because the shop had closed down it was also interesting to note that the secondhand market on these is very buoyant and lots of people seem to be on the lookout for antique wedding dresses. It was quite interesting to note this, and Im sure at some stage in the future when she has finished using this dress that she will definitely be selling it to try and recoup some of the money that she has paid.
