Carl Crawford, Right Field: Crawford would be my leadoff man, no question. He's the best leadoff guy in the league, with top-end base-stealing ability and he's got some power as well. He's like a poor man's Rickey Henderson, which is still very good.
Hanley Ramirez, Shortstop: Ramirez can do everything and do it all really, really well. He hits for average, has solid power and steals bases. He'd fit in perfectly batting second on this team, as his combination of power and speed is a rare find.
Alex Rodriguez, Third Base: A-Rod might have taken a banned substance in the past, but he's still one of the best players in the game without help. He's got top-tier power and can still run pretty well. His average usually hovers around .300, though his numbers in this department are down this season. We might be putting Evan Longoria at third on this team in a couple of years, but for now A-Rod is still the king of the hot corner.
Albert Pujols, First Base: Pujols is the best hitter in the league and is basically an unstoppable force. He's the most dominant player since Barry Bonds and he's a good fielder as well. He's having an incredible career so far and it looks like he's still getting better. This is a cleanup hitter that will truly clean up.
Ryan Braun, Left Field: Braun doesn't get a ton of attention playing in Milwaukee, but he's done nothing but mash the ball since coming up to the bigs. He goes on absolute tears too, where he is the hottest player in the game.
Chase Utley, Second Base: Utley is the best second baseman in the game, without a doubt. His power is basically unprecedented for his position and he's great in the field as well. He's good enough to be the third hitter in almost any lineup, but he falls to sixth in the order on this monster of a team.
Joe Mauer, Catcher: Mauer is the perfect number two hitter right now and he might be developing into a guy suited for the three hole, but not on this team. He's a top-notch defensive catcher and clearly the best hitter at the position. This season we've seen a power influx in his game, making this two-time batting champ even more dangerous.
Carlos Beltran, Center Field: Some people may question this selection, but tell me where else you're going to get offensive numbers across the board from a guy who plays a spectacular center field, and I mean spectacular. He hits for a solid average, hit for power and steals plenty of bases. He's largely underrated and doesn't get the credit he's due from most fans.
