The recession has affected many people and consequently, many of us have had to make cutbacks and concessions from our regular expenditure; from simply cutting down on nights in the pub or meals out, to spending buying the cheaper alternatives to large brands, we are finding what ways we can to save money.

The traditional British 'two weeks in the sun' foreign holidays are also finding themselves being the subject of these cutbacks, but with the stressful times we live in, we need to get away from it all more than ever, which is perhaps why home-grown holidays such as those offered by caravan parks are enjoying a resurgence.

Due to the falling value of the Pound compared to the Euro and the Dollar, most of the traditional British holiday destinations are simply far less economical compared to years past when our exchange rate was better and our holiday money would go much further; add travel and accommodation on top and a holiday abroad suddenly becomes a much larger expenditure than it had been in years past and it is an expenditure that fewer of us can justify in the current economy.

The natural beauty offered by the British countryside is something that many people are glad to rediscover through vacations in caravan parks or similar and holidaying in an area such as Kent or the Lake District enables you to really experience it, and with the range of ways of viewing it available from scenic walks to balloon rides, a break in the British countryside can be one of the most relaxing holidays available.

Conversely, it is also just as possible to find a more action-packed holiday, with many caravan parks around the country situated close to places which offer activities such as surfing, climbing and hiking, enabling you to experience the landscape of your holiday in a very different way, but every bit as enjoyable if this is more the kind of break you enjoy.

Often available for less than you may expect, the range of holidays on offer and the variety of locations in which caravan parks can be found makes it possible to find a vacation which suits your tastes for far less than a foreign break would cost, making it possible to have a vacation at a price which befits the current economic climate. The British weather may not be as clement as the Costa Del Sol, but with the savings made on the travel, accommodation and the exchange rate, a British holiday can be the ideal way to get away.
