When you stay in a cabin, no matter the length of time, you will need food to eat and a lace to keep it fresh which means electricity and a refrigerator. You might use a generator, but that is just not a lot of fun and if you are going for rest and relaxation, keeping a generator running day and night will not allow you much of that. They are great for emergencies like when the electricity goes out and you have no choice but to use one.
You will also need running water. While going down to the creek or lake bank might sound utterly romantic, the reality is that the water will be cold and sometimes kind of nasty. You must have fresh water to drink. If your cabin is out in the boonies somewhere that water lines are not available, that means you must have a well or a reservoir tank. A well can provide great tasting, clean water especially when it is in a remote area. You should always have it tested to make sure it is safe to drink.
Then there are other creature comforts you will want to have like furniture that is comfortable. Getting rest is one of the biggest reasons people rent or buy a cabin, but if the bed is not inviting, sleep might not come easy. Sometimes people will furnish a cabin sparsely because they think that is they one is supposed to be, but nothing should be further from the truth. If you have a coffee table at home, you will likely need one just as much in a cabin.
Remember that the more comfortable and at home you are away from home, the more restful and relaxing your cabin experience will be. It does not have to be so rustic that it makes you miserable and want to go back to your real house. Having all of the little things that you are accustomed to is a good idea if you really want to have a pleasant time and that does include toilet paper with a working toilet.
