"Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death." ~Anais Nin

As each of us has grown and matured, we have accumulated large databases of thoughts, ideas, standards and principles. Our databases attend us when we live and move and have our being; when we get a job promotion; when we marry; when we become parents. This abundance of ideas can be overwhelming to both ourselves, our associates and the team members we manage.

How can we get a practical handle on this enormous surplus so that we do not become overwhelmed by the task? Once we reduce it to a size that is not overwhelming and we incorporate it into our lives, we are living the dream. We can analyze what we've put in there and eliminate what is not useful. We can put only what is useful to work by creating a practical plan.

If you have not yet tested your ideas through living an experience, they provide no power for you. They do not serve as examples of what to do, how to do it, or that this is an effective means to achieve success. Use, or application, then holds the key to success.

Here is a practical format for leadership in a world of ideas, proven through experience:

- Select five to ten key ideas that you know will foster success.

- Implement them in your own life by your actions.

- Talk about them with your associates and your team members.

- Encourage them to use them as you do.

- Request their wisdom in fine tuning the ideas for even better success.

My Be the Change life is based on principles that I cherish in my heart and that I live, personally. I am successful because I work with these ideas daily. I encourage you to become familiar with your own ideas. Test them. Try them. They will help you enjoy the success you want so much.

Your credibility as a leader or the member of a team is not based on the words of wisdom that come out of your mouth. It's determined by your words and whether you are using them yourself in your own life. It is based on living your truth and walking your talk. The ideas in your databases are working for you. I congratulate you if you are already using this tool in your life and can see its success. For the others, this is the secret of their successes, and you can begin today to implement it too.

"Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that the stuff life is made of." ~ Benjamin Franklin
