DEALING WITH DIFFICULT PEOPLE AND NEGATIVITY
As described in more articles on Negative Norms they cannot see they are difficult. They don't realize they are often very negative. They don't understand why their consistent language is disheartening others around them. In dealing with people who are Negative Norms you need to first provide them with feedback on what you feel and why their behavior distresses you and others.
NEGATIVITY AND COPING WITH DIFFICULT PEOPLE
However, giving people feedback doesn't guarantee that they will want to or more importantly, be able to change their language from pessimistic to more optimistic language. They are going to need more help along the way. So here's a simple but very powerful technique that just might help this person who wants to work on changing their language.
CHANGING LANGUAGE AND DISHEARTENING WORDS
The Negative Norms in your Dealing Difficult People Pack of Cards have a lifetime of using such language and words. This does not mean that they need to change to only making positive statements. Their ability to see and define the risks involved in certain activities is very important. However, there does have to be a balance between total negativity and total optimism.
COPING WITH DIFFICULT PEOPLE AND TIME
To change their language takes time and commitment. It is extremely hard for Negative Norms to do so alone. But they can slowly learn to change their words by using this simple and repetitive technique.
LANGUAGE STRATEGY IN WORKING WITH DIFFICULT PEOPLE
The negative to positive language technique means that every time a person is about to say something negative, they must make a positive statement first. This means that an extremely negative person cannot make a negative comment without first making a positive one.
DEALING WITH DIFFICULT PEOPLE AT WORK AND HOME
Over a period of time, this strategy really works. When forced to say something positive first, this difficult person will begin to think positive thoughts first. Constantly thinking of positive thoughts and expressing upbeat language before any negativity changes the way you think. This helps them to begin to find a balance between total negativity and some positive language. It also means that others will hear this person using positive comments and not feel disheartened and unsupportive by them.
HAVE A GO AT THIS STRATEGY FOR YOU NOW
Also you can use this method by going beyond simply dealing with difficult people and negativity. Try out this method yourself. When you're just about to say a negative comment, make yourself say something positive first. You'll slowly notice that you'll be more positive in your mindset and words too. This method is an enormous help to you and others handling negativity and dealing with difficult people.
