The principle of attraction marketing is really an adaptation of a natural law of nature. The law has been around since the dawn of man. It is about the instinct for survival. It really has nothing to do with marketing but must be applied to marketing to succeed whether deliberately or not.

The instinct for survival forces people to be social. There is strength in numbers. When you put people together for any amount of time and give them an objective a leader will emerge. The leader will guide the group to its objective. If it is a survival situation the leader will guide everyone to safety.

Some people are born leaders. Some people are natural followers. However, if you put 10 followers in a room and ask them to do something they will pick a leader. In all probability it will be the one who knows the most about whatever they were asked to do.

This alone tells you that being a leader is a state of mind and has nothing to do with how much money a person has. Having knowledge does have an influence on who is a leader but the knowledge has to be shared and applied for the benefit of the group.

Civilizations were formed because of this instinct for survival and the natural law of attraction that causes societies to choose a leader. In the beginning of civilization leaders were chosen that could guide others through the many perils that their society faced.

Those perils were things like hunting for food and shelter and protection from weather,predators, and other groups of people. So the leaders were the biggest, strongest, and fastest much like wild creatures today that live in social groups.

Today, leaders are still chosen and followed but for many different reasons. Now people become leaders because of a different set of values like sociability, monetary means, education, business savvy etc...

If you are to use this concept in network marketing you will need to exhibit leadership qualities and work towards becoming a leader. Anyone who isn't a leader will struggle until they become one.

Network marketing or direct sales is more about selling the opportunity and then the distributors using the products than it is about selling the products. Some people will want to just use the products because they are so good but the money is in building a business through finding others to use the product and get others to buy and promote the business also. If you become a leader people will want to join you.

All people belong in three groups; leaders, followers, soon to be leaders. Network marketers are entrepreneurs and there are none that are followers. So you will have to become a leader if you are to succeed.

To become a leader you must do several things; 1. You have to believe you are a leader and start acting like one. 2. You must become a student of the industry so you learn valuable skills that you share with others. 3. You must be willing to give your knowledge away without the expectation of receiving anything in return. 4. You must start living in a state of wealth consciousness instead of a state of need.

In Bob Proctor's book "You Were Born Rich", he talks about this and so does Napoleon Hill in "Think and Grow Rich." Bob Proctor calls it prosperity consciousness and according to him your subconscious works 24 hours a day and does not know the difference between what is real and imagined so if you imagine that you have prosperity not only will you start acting like it and start drawing prosperity to you but you will be seen by others as having it.

Mike Dillard says every successful entrepreneur he knows has an education in entrepreneurialism that is equivalent to a Master's or PhD and 100% of them have a library to match their bank account.
